TOOLS · RSS FEED CLEANER

Regulated information doesn’t change. The feed shouldn’t either — silently.

If you publish or depend on RSS for press releases, financial statements, prospectus amendments, product-recall notices, or drug-labelling updates, the Cleaner keeps a byte-level record of every version of every item, flags the change the moment it happens, and gives downstream readers a public corrections feed they can trust.

WHY IT MATTERS

An RSS feed is a public record. Treat it like one.

ISSUERS

Press releases, 8-K filings, prospectus amendments, product-recall notices, drug labelling updates, financial statements — the RSS feed is often the first and only record readers downstream treat as canonical. A silent edit after publication, a deleted item, a typo fix on a disclosed number — regulators increasingly treat late or unmarked corrections as reporting failures (SEC Regulation FD, SEC Rule 10b-5, SFDR Article 10, MiFID II Article 24).

READERS

Compliance workflows, news aggregators, archive bots, government databases, media-monitoring platforms, in-house dashboards — all of them read RSS once and move on. When an issuer silently amends a past item, your downstream record diverges from the public record. The cleaner surfaces the diff before it becomes an audit question.

ARCHIVISTS

A feed item that quietly changes two weeks after publication is a piece of evidence that moved. For a journalist, a FOIA officer, a researcher, a lawyer preparing exhibits — that movement needs to be visible, dated, and comparable to the version first distributed. Byte-level snapshots with timestamps are the primitive underneath every question you want to answer.

HOW IT WORKS

Six moving parts. No surprises.

01
MONITORING

Polls your RSS feed at a cadence you set — every 1 to 24 hours. Each run writes an immutable, timestamped snapshot of every item: title, body, publish date, author, and the raw XML bytes. Snapshots are retained for the life of the subscription, so a question asked next quarter can still be answered against the record.

02
VERSION DIFFS

On every snapshot, each item is compared byte-exactly against its previous version. Deterministic fields (title, summary, body, publish date, author, link, enclosure URLs) are normalised and diffed; the rest of the XML is hashed. A change at either level triggers a diff record that pins exactly what moved, when, and by how much.

03
EMAIL WARNINGS

Every detected change sends an email alert to the addresses you register for that feed. The alert carries the before/after diff inline, a stable URL to the versioned record, and the time the change was first observed. Acknowledging the alert is free-form — you decide whether the change is a legitimate correction, an unmarked edit that needs a public note, or a mistake to roll back.

04
CORRECTIONS ON THE FLY

Every item carries an attached edit log — the sequence of versions, their timestamps, and the diff between each. The edit log is served as a public read-only sidecar feed at /corrections that compliance workflows can subscribe to the same way they subscribe to your main feed. Readers who care about integrity point at the sidecar and never miss a change.

05
AUTO-CORRECTIONS (OPT-IN)

For well-defined edit classes — typo fixes under 5% character diff, timestamp adjustments within the same business day, tag normalisation — the cleaner can publish a canonical corrected version automatically, carrying the original in a dc:history element and a dc:corrected tag. Every auto-correction is still logged in the sidecar feed and email-alerted, so nothing goes out silently. Opt-in per rule class; defaults to off.

06
FORENSIC EXPORT

Export any item’s full version history as a signed PDF or a machine-readable JSON bundle. The PDF carries a timestamp, a SHA-256 of each snapshot, and our signing key so it can be used as evidence of what the feed looked like at a given moment. Useful for regulatory filings, litigation holds, and internal-audit workpapers.

PRICING

Per feed, per polling cadence.

One subscription per feed. Pricing scales with how often the feed is checked — 24-hour cadence is €179 / month, hourly is €779 / month, linear between. Email alerts, diff history, corrections sidecar feed, forensic export are all included at every tier. Cancel any month — your snapshot history stays accessible for the retention window you paid for.
